Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose the current business environment in assigned accounts in relation to cardiovascular products and plan and execute actions for account success.
  • Work internally through the matrix team and externally with customers to develop relationships and support portfolio performance and brand strategies across complex partner organizations.
  • Serve as strategic lead for assigned key accounts by executing compliant strategies to engage priority providers through tailored approaches.
  • Ensure institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
  • Lead implementation initiatives that enable sustainable institution and health-system utilization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned with cardiovascular business-unit strategy and informed by institutional needs, business performance, and access or implementation barriers.
  • Collaborate with field teams, including compliant partnerships with aligned medical science liaisons as appropriate.
  • Meet routinely with opinion leaders in cardiology, lipidology, pharmacy, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics committees who act as partners or decision-makers within assigned health-system accounts.
  • Present Medical Affairs and Compliance-approved data and messages and ensure compliant delivery within governing policies.
  • Ensure assigned accounts drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products and coordinate pull-through and access with sales colleagues.
  • Monitor assigned accounts, cardiovascular business performance, and overall market dynamics.
  • Identify drivers and barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams, including sales representatives, district sales managers, regional sales directors, and reimbursement/access specialists.
  • Coordinate home-office engagement with customers and arrange approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives that promote assigned products compliantly.
  • Build and develop professional relationships with hospital pharmacy, lipid clinical, heart failure clinical, quality, and hospital finance decision-makers across assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate with access specialists to support open access to the cardiovascular portfolio.
  • Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of account-management and/or public-payor experience.
  • An advanced degree such as a Master of Public Health, Master of Business Administration, or Doctor of Pharmacy, with 7 or more years of healthcare sales, marketing, buying-process, or decision-making experience.
  • Clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart-failure, access-environment, competitor, and industry experience.
  • Cardiology experience, including dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes.
  • Understanding of the current environment and trends in community cardiology practices.
  • Understanding of internal and external dynamics in dyslipidemia and heart failure, including inpatient-to-outpatient management and protocols, readmission programs, electronic management systems, performance versus quality metrics, and congestive-heart-failure/interventional performance priorities.
  • District management experience.
  • Knowledge of hospital committee structures, Pharmacy and Therapeutics processes, treatment and discharge protocols, diagnosis-related-group and hospital reimbursement processes, and communicating their impact on approved cardiovascular products and competitors.
  • Functional knowledge of Medicare and government agencies, and the ability to match needs to strategic account management in state or federal sectors.
  • Knowledge of payor systems.
  • Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services policies and processes.
  • Documented ability to work with a sales force to resolve payor-related issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and written and verbal communication.
