Requirements
  • 8+ years of accounting and finance experience, Big 4 experience a plus
  • CPA certification and strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Deep ERP expertise; Netsuite experience a strong plus
  • 3-5+ years of consumer products / physical goods industry accounting experience, with broad familiarity in industry-appropriate financial metrics
  • Strong familiarity with full-cycle accounting for high growth startups: e.g. omni-channel revenue, stock-based compensation, investor relations reporting, etc.
  • Experience with contract manufacturing, complex inventory management processes and inventory management systems
  • Self-motivated, with a love of complex problem solving, and a results-oriented approach to a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Experience delivering financial results and insights to C-suite, investors, employees, and others
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally to create processes and deliver financial information, including channel or function reporting
  • Experience managing critical projects such as ERP system implementations
  • Strong proficiency in wide variety of software and tools and ability to quickly ramp on new tools, e.g.: Shopify, Amazon, Carta, payroll systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, with expert level Excel skills
  • Working familiarity with tax and compliance requirements, deadlines, and reporting
  • Proven track record of implementing internal controls with light, user-friendly processes
Responsibilities
  • Directly own major accounting operations for Fellow including GL, revenue recognition, expense management, inventory and balance sheet integrity
  • Steer timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close including review of account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure timely recording of transactions and the completeness and accuracy of all financial reporting
  • Continuously improve accounting practices and financial controls, processes and procedures. Ensure effective safeguards over company assets, receipt of revenue, payments of authorized expenses, compliance with contractual obligations, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, leading to audit-ready financials and processes
  • Own ERP system from an accounting perspective (Netsuite)
  • Oversee tax compliance and appropriate regulatory reporting, File taxes accurately and timely
  • Prepare analyses and presentation materials as needed by senior leadership, including reports, forecasts and projections and support for Board and investor presentations and analyses
