Professional Surveyor/Project Manager
About the job
- At least 10 years of previous surveying experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation, including current DOT L&D CAD tools, and ability to use AutoCAD as a secondary CAD drafting skill.
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Center.
- A bachelor's degree in land surveying, engineering, geomatics, or engineering technology.
- Professional Surveyor registration in good standing in the state where the assigned office resides.
- A valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
- Ability to perform work accurately, stay organized, and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively on projects of various sizes and balance priorities across multiple projects.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, stakeholders, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and speech, using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proven success in delivering high-quality project submittals.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of office and field survey work, including boundary and right-of-way surveys, topographic survey work, and right-of-way plan work.
- Assist with department operations while ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability.
- Assist with development, implementation, training, and mentoring of survey staff.
- Manage survey projects, including proposals, budgets, safety, schedules, quality control, invoicing, and project delivery.
- Provide land surveying expertise and perform or review technical procedures for topographic, boundary, route, and other assigned survey functions.
- Train, supervise, critique, and mentor personnel assigned to tasks.
- Work with DGL management to develop and support junior project managers, manage survey projects, and expand services.
- Review designs and plans, perform quality assurance and quality control on client deliverables, support service expansion for current customers, and attract new customers in line with growth objectives.
