Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Hold licensure in the state of Virginia.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate.
  • Assess patients’ medical conditions by completing urological examinations.
  • Document and communicate evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other requested reports to the appropriate physician in a timely manner.
  • Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on patients’ medical conditions.
  • Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols.
  • Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, and home health care as appropriate.
  • Perform trained procedures in the office setting, including cystoscopy and prostate biopsy.
