Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing and implementing issues and crisis communications strategies at an communications agency or a publicly traded company
  • At least 3 years of experience in partnering with and consulting business leaders on strategic communications
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing external communications strategies
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing or Public Relations (preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing issues and crisis communications strategies at a publicly traded company (preferred)
  • At least 4 years experience in financial services or other highly regulated industry (preferred)
  • At least 4 years of experience in partnering with and consulting c-suite executives (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Identify reputation building themes, topics and content that resonate with various audiences and meet timely objectives
  • Drive projects and programs that support Capital One’s reputation across stakeholders
  • Lead project and process management enabling the team to operate efficiently and in a well managed way
  • Leverage data and insights to inform proactive and reactive engagement and measure success
  • Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, in an open and collaborative environment
  • Operate in cross-functional teams advising on communications strategies and providing real-time counsel
  • Reinforce engagement strategies through providing perspective of the current media environment
  • Engage with media to shape and defend corporate reputation
  • Manage projects and processes to maximize impact
  • Develop and maintain messaging and materials
  • Tell a unified story to enhance Capital One’s reputation, ensuring all efforts reflect and bolster the enterprise
  • Connect the dots to ensure all key teams are engaged and key audiences are taken into consideration
  • Ensure all work is executed through a lens of strategic impact and measurement, leveraging the latest tools and technology to showcase how communications is driving business outcomes, brand awareness and engagement
