Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 7 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience in heavy construction, including site work, roads, bridges, environmental work, support of excavation, foundations, piles, sanitary sewers, or sewer wastewater treatment plants.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, remain self-motivated and detail-oriented, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and follow through effectively.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, accurately process written documents, complete duties in a timely manner, stay highly organized, and communicate effectively with the company, clients, and field personnel at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the timely execution and administration of assigned projects safely and profitably while meeting quality and integrity standards.
  • Lead the planning and development of all project deliverables.
  • Manage the project budget, work plan, and project management procedures.
  • Ensure overall job-site safety according to the applicable safety manual.
  • Ensure required test holes are dug.
  • Report damage to utility lines to the Vice President of Field Operations.
  • Ensure the job site meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, including cleanliness.
  • Ensure everyone on site follows safety protocols, including activity hazard analyses and daily toolbox talks.
  • Perform daily quantity reviews.
  • Participate in monthly reviews of estimates and pending payment submissions.
  • Report extra work and non-contract work to the Division Manager.
  • Process estimates on time.
  • Prepare and submit change orders to the owner.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
  • Forecast project revenue, costs, and profitability accurately.
  • Ensure payroll and equipment information is accurate.
  • Maintain petty cash.
  • Obtain and prepare monthly cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Control material deliveries, production schedules, and long-lead-time items.
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors.
  • Coordinate utility requirements with providers.
  • Coordinate schedule activities with the site superintendent.
  • Notify the owner of schedule impacts in accordance with contract documents.
  • Maintain project records and files in the field office.
  • Develop and implement a project schedule that meets the owner's goals.
  • Ensure project activities are thoroughly and properly planned.
  • Supervise the project team and ensure all tasks are completed.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in a project manager role involving contract values of $10 million or more.
  • Wet utility construction experience.
