Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related area, or equivalent experience or training.
  • At least three years of experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel for creating spreadsheets.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of University of California accounting practices, purchasing, and reimbursement.
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Ability to independently gather required information, organize it, and perform financial analysis assignments.
  • Ability to present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization, service orientation, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills to multitask in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and function as a team member.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • A demonstrated record of reliability and excellent attendance.
Responsibilities
  • Perform complex financial analysis for several clinics and divisions in the department.
  • Manage high-volume, complex transactions requiring full understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Work independently on problems of diverse scope where data analysis considers multiple factors.
  • Assist the supervisor in annual budget preparation.
  • Monitor and resolve deficit balances.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Prior experience with BearBuy, MyExpense, UCPath, and EPIC.
  • Prior experience working directly with research faculty.
