Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least three years of professional experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes is required; technical training may be considered as experience.
  • Ability to draw and program using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing software.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient understanding of reading and interpreting machinist drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as dial calipers and micrometers to inspect in-process and completed parts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and management and respond to instructions and assignments.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand and walk for prolonged periods, with periodic twisting, bending, and squatting.
Responsibilities
  • Program and operate computer numerical control lathes and mills.
  • Set tools in machines and create fixtures to hold unique parts.
  • Operate Haas, Fadal, and ProtoTrak equipment.
  • Comply with Department of Defense drawings and hold tight tolerances on machined parts.
  • Operate saws and occasionally use manual lathes and mills.
  • Use dial calipers, micrometers, and other common measuring tools to inspect machined parts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

UIC Acquires Delta Solutions & Strategies
