Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are required.
- Excellent guest relations and telephone demeanor are required.
- The ability to handle interactions professionally within a fast-paced, hectic, and emotionally charged clinical environment is required.
- The ability to think critically and make decisions so that urgent or emergent situations are handled correctly within hospital policies and procedures is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent computer skills are required.
- The ability to effectively communicate with all age levels served within the scope of the position and assigned areas is required.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to workplace health and safety, with or without reasonable accommodation, is required.
Responsibilities
- Register patients and update information in the patients' electronic medical records.
- Perform administrative tasks to ensure that patient demographic, financial, and mandated information is accurate based on available information.
- Provide patients and family members with required regulatory informational documents regarding their visit or admission.
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of computer experience is preferred.
- A minimum of one to two years of experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
