Requirements
  • The candidate must have 10–15 years of experience in software or machine learning engineering and architecture, with proven ownership of AI solutions in production.
  • The candidate must have hands-on experience with generative artificial intelligence architecture, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic patterns, orchestration frameworks, LangChain, Haystack, and LlamaIndex.
  • The candidate must have grounding in classical machine learning delivery.
  • The candidate must have experience with machine learning operations or large language model operations, evaluation design, model serving, observability, and inference cost optimization.
  • The candidate must have practical experience designing for responsible artificial intelligence, security, and compliance requirements.
  • The candidate must have working knowledge of data platforms, pipelines, and modeling.
  • The candidate must be able to lead technical workshops with technical stakeholders in a client environment.
  • The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication and technical authoring abilities, including the ability to communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to stakeholders with varying levels of technical competency.
  • The candidate must hold a B.E., B.Tech, MCA, PhD, or equivalent qualification.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end architecture for artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence engagements, including classical machine learning, large language model applications, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and agentic workflows.
  • Make design decisions regarding build versus buy, model selection, fine-tuning versus retrieval, and orchestration patterns.
  • Design retrieval architectures involving chunking, embedding, indexing, hybrid search, and re-ranking for accuracy and latency at scale.
  • Architect agentic systems involving tool use, memory, multi-step orchestration, and human-in-the-loop control points.
  • Design machine learning operations and large language model operations setups, including model serving, versioning, deployment pipelines, and rollback.
  • Define evaluation architecture, including evaluation harnesses, quality benchmarks, regression testing, and acceptance criteria.
  • Architect observability, monitoring, and drift detection, and design for operability and handoff to Managed Operations.
  • Design cost-efficient inference architectures involving model tiering, caching, token economics, and financial operations guardrails.
  • Specify training data, feature pipeline, and other data requirements for artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Partner with Data Solution Architects to translate model and retrieval-augmented generation requirements into data platform designs.
  • Design embedding and vector store strategies in coordination with the underlying data architecture.
  • Embed responsible artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence security standards into solution designs, including guardrails, explainability requirements, and human oversight.
  • Design against generative artificial intelligence risk surfaces, including prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe outputs, and insecure tool use.
  • Design for latency, scalability, availability, security, and cost, and ensure designs meet regulatory obligations.
  • Serve as the technical authority through delivery by guiding engineering teams, reviewing designs, and resolving technical escalations.
  • Support pursuits with technical proposals, effort estimation, and technical workshops with client stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture is an added advantage.
