What believers are saying

  • AI data-center validation can lift CF1000 and adjacent lab instrumentation demand.
  • Spirent product lines added $54.2 million in Q3 revenue, accelerating Network Service Enablement growth.
  • The $500 million offering retires Term Loan B, reducing interest burden and refinancing risk.

What critics are saying

  • The equity raise dilutes holders and signals dependence on external capital.
  • Spirent integration failure would immediately impair the largest driver of recent revenue growth.
  • A slowdown in hyperscale capex or defense procurement would hit VIAVI's momentum fast.

What makes Viavi Solutions unique

  • VIAVI combines test equipment, assurance software, and resilient PNT in one portfolio.
  • CF1000 validates multi-terabit AI security infrastructure with 400G native testing and encryption.
  • Avnu recognized TTworkbench and TestCenter M1 for TSN certification across multi-vendor ecosystems.

VIAVI's TTworkbench and M1 Appliance recognised as Avnu certification test tool for TSN

VIAVI Solutions has announced that its TTworkbench gPTP test suite and TestCenter M1 Appliance have been recognised as an IEEE 802.1AS Avnu Certification Test Tool solution under the Avnu Alliance Time-Sensitive Networking Component Certification Program. The solution will be showcased at the Avnu Alliance Plugfest in London from 20–24 April. The certification test tool enables device manufacturers, silicon providers and test laboratories to validate conformance for TSN protocols and ensure interoperability across multi-vendor TSN ecosystems. VIAVI's solution combines automated TSN conformance testing with traffic generation and timing analysis in a single workflow. The Avnu Alliance Component Certification Program supports standardised validation across TSN-enabled devices in automotive, industrial, professional audio, aerospace and defence applications.

VIAVI partners with Ground Control to enable maritime vessel tracking in GPS-denied environments

VIAVI Solutions has partnered with Ground Control to integrate its Secure µPNT STL-1000 receiver into RockFLEET Assured, an asset tracking and navigation solution for maritime vessels operating in GNSS-denied environments. The compact software-defined receiver delivers precise timing with holdover capability, enabling tracking and navigation in denied, degraded and disrupted space operational environments. It addresses vulnerabilities from GPS jamming and spoofing, which have become increasingly common in cyber warfare. RockFLEET Assured is a marine-grade positioning, navigation and timing solution designed to support maritime vessel navigation when GNSS signals are unavailable. The partnership aims to strengthen resilience for mission-critical operations across defence, maritime and critical infrastructure sectors by providing a trusted secondary position source beyond traditional GPS reliance.

VIAVI launches Observer Threat Forensics with CrowdStrike for unified NetSecOps analysis

VIAVI Solutions has launched Observer Threat Forensics, a solution combining network operation management with CrowdStrike-powered threat intelligence to support converged NetSecOps teams. The platform provides retrospective analysis capabilities and unifies packet insights, flow data and log telemetry into a single dashboard. The solution addresses growing demand for convergence between network and security operations. VIAVI's State of the Network study found that 79% of 750 surveyed CIOs and CISOs wanted to move away from siloed operational models, yet only 27% have begun the transition. Observer Threat Forensics leverages existing network performance monitoring data to provide both performance insights and security threat investigation capabilities. The platform helps organisations identify vulnerabilities, analyse breaches and understand intrusion points whilst eliminating data gaps. VIAVI showcased the solution at the RSA Conference in San Francisco from 23-26 March.
