Registered Nurse - Surgery Center
About the job
- An Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A current registered nurse license in good standing is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, practices, and the applicable Nurse Practice Act is required.
- Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and patient-care skills are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is required.
- Assess patients, obtain nursing histories, monitor vital signs, and identify changes requiring intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
- Provide safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- When assigned to a surgical setting, prepare the operating room and assist surgeons with instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and implement appropriate infection-control practices.
- Operate C-Arm/fluoroscopy equipment under the guidance of the surgeon when required.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 1 year of operating room and/or post-anesthesia care unit nursing experience.
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification.
- Experience with surgical procedures, scrub processes, and post-anesthesia care.
- C-Arm/fluoroscopy experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
