Process Formulation Analyst
About the job
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with multivariate techniques such as Principal Component Analysis and/or Partial Least Squares.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Experience with in-line real-time Process Analytical Technology tools, ideally Near Infrared.
- Familiarity with off-line analytical instruments and a background in chemometric modeling to calibrate real-time measurements with off-line measurements.
- Proficiency in designing and performing scientific experiments to solve problems.
- Experience working with nutraceutical and/or pharmaceutical powders and liquids is preferred.
- Experience optimizing blending operations in a laboratory or production environment is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in chemistry or an equivalent degree in a related field.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Collect and analyze blend data to provide feedback to the formulation team for solid dosage, liquid, and soft chew forms.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers for new and existing formulations and products.
- Gather and analyze data to support process improvement initiatives and measure their effectiveness.
- Create detailed documentation of in-process monitoring analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Support and lead scientific studies.
- Assist in troubleshooting problematic formulas.
- Gather data to justify in-process production parameters and finished product specifications.
- Perform bench trials and physical evaluations, and collect data to support product formulation.
- Use and work with product-development laboratory equipment, including blenders, mixers, tablet presses, and coating machines.
- Prepare specifications, documentation, and reports related to formulations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state government agency laws.
- Ensure that all Good Manufacturing Practice practices are followed.
- Communicate with other departments and function within a team environment.
- Perform assigned duties as required to meet company objectives.
- Work with raw materials and finished goods that may contain specified allergen sources.
- A Master of Science degree in chemistry.
