About the job

Requirements
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of semiconductor experience with a deep focus on SoC architecture, low-power RTL design, and Physical Design implementation.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex, high-performance silicon, such as AI accelerators, GPUs, or advanced SoCs, under stringent PPA constraints.
  • Hands-on expertise with power intent (UPF/CPF) and industry-standard power estimation and analysis tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Tcl, or Perl for customizing EDA tool flows and PPA data analysis.
Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end power, performance, and area (PPA) excellence for next-generation AI semiconductor chips, bridging front-end conceptualization and back-end implementation and influencing SoC architecture, RTL design, and physical layout.
  • Drive SoC-level power and thermal management architecture, influencing microarchitecture, memory hierarchies, and dataflows to minimize dynamic and leakage power for AI inference and training workloads.
  • Review and guide RTL implementation to ensure consistency with power and timing goals.
  • Collaborate with Physical Design teams to refine area constraints, floorplanning, and multi-voltage domain structures.
  • Develop and refine advanced Physical Design recipes for synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis, and routing to achieve PPA targets.
  • Partner with EDA vendors and internal teams to adopt and customize power analysis tools, including PowerArtist, PrimePower, and Joules.
  • Develop custom scripts and design workflows where standard tools fall short to achieve additional power savings.
  • Lead PPA analysis and trade-off discussions across RTL, architecture, and Physical Design teams; resolve complex bottlenecks and ensure final silicon meets power budgets.

About the company

EnCharge AI develops hardware and software for artificial intelligence computation, ranging from edge devices to cloud servers. The company utilizes analog in-memory computing through chiplets, ASICs, and PCIe cards to process AI tasks directly within memory, which reduces the power and space required for complex calculations. Unlike competitors using traditional digital methods, EnCharge AI offers significantly lower CO2 emissions and a lower total cost of ownership by integrating its specialized technology into the existing semiconductor supply chain. The company's goal is to democratize advanced AI by making it economically viable and sustainable for businesses to solve large-scale human challenges.
