Requirements
  • A B.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent years of work experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud security is required, with a focus on securing cloud infrastructure for data processing and storage.
  • A strong understanding of cloud security, identity management, secure communication protocols such as Transport Layer Security, and data encryption is preferred.
  • Experience securing public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
  • Experience with Static Application Security Testing and Dynamic Application Security Testing tools, container security, and vulnerability management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 compliance requirements for cloud environments is preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code is preferred, particularly Terraform.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure-by-default cloud infrastructure for data transmitted from Internet of Things devices and between cloud services.
  • Develop secure mechanisms for data storage and processing, including encryption and secure authentication frameworks, to support data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code modules that enable secure cloud infrastructure provisioning and align with security best practices and industry regulations.
  • Ensure data transmitted from Internet of Things devices to the industrial cloud is encrypted and securely handled.
  • Implement network-level security measures to protect cloud infrastructure from man-in-the-middle attacks, distributed denial-of-service attacks, and unauthorized access.
  • Develop security protocols for managing data at rest and in transit across cloud services and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee the integration of cloud services for secure data ingestion, storage, and processing.
  • Implement and maintain secure access-control mechanisms so that only authorized systems and personnel can interact with cloud-based data.
  • Manage secure application programming interface connections and authentication methods between cloud systems and enterprise services.
  • Ensure industrial cloud infrastructure complies with ISO 27001 and maintain compliance through regular audits and assessments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews of the cloud environment to identify and address potential risks.
  • Perform threat modeling and vulnerability assessments to identify potential attack vectors within cloud infrastructure.

The energy technology company, based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, has signed a global supply agreement to provide backup power generators for a leading hyperscale data centre operator's infrastructure. The deal followed what Generac describes as a rigorous qualification process, including multiple factory visits, performance and quality system reviews and audits across its vendor base. Aaron Jagdfeld, Chairman, President and CEO of Generac, says the agreement reflects the trust hyperscale operators are placing in the company's engineering credentials. "This agreement positions Generac at the heart of supporting essential services and the digital economy," he explains. "The successful navigation of this approval process solidifies our position as a top-tier supplier of large megawatt backup power generators and reflects the kind of relationship we expect will grow as the digital economy continues to scale." For data centre operators, the significance lies in what sits behind that approval process. Banking, healthcare delivery and emergency response all depend on facilities staying online through grid disruptions and periods of high demand, and a supplier able to pass hyperscale-level scrutiny on factory audits and quality systems offers assurance as capacity commitments grow larger. Engineering culture underpins critical infrastructure push. Erik Wilde, EVP and President of Domestic Commercial & Industrial (C&I) at Generac, frames the agreement as validation of the company's broader approach. "Generac has been supporting mission-critical infrastructure for decades," he says. "Securing this agreement reflects our culture - an engineering-first organisation focused on backup power, with the service capabilities required to support critical infrastructure at scale." That culture is also visible in the recognition given to the SD3250, Generac's 3.25MW generator and its largest diesel unit, named Gold winner in the Power Generation & Electrical Infrastructure category of the 2026 Consulting-Specifying Engineer Product of the Year awards. The SD3250 sits within a range of large diesel generators spanning 1.75MW to 3.25MW, built for data centres, healthcare and wider infrastructure.
