Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with children, including experience such as academic or tutoring work, camp counseling, or youth volunteering.
  • A child abuse clearance and criminal checks are required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and using grammatically correct written and oral language in professional interactions.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations that may require running and climbing stairs.
  • Good physical condition enabling the candidate to perform all responsibilities associated with the position.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise students and provide specific instruction while maintaining a safe and fun learning environment and serving as a positive role model.
  • Provide daily arts and crafts instruction to students ages 4 to 18 with different ability levels.
  • Use sketching, painting, and mixed media materials, including pencils, charcoal, acrylic paint, brushes, color markers, crayons, watercolor, and craft paper.
  • Engage children positively, encourage creative thinking, and lead hands-on projects.
  • Promote and stimulate interest and participation in art.
  • Manage the inventory, ordering, care, and maintenance of related supplies and equipment.
  • Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
  • Use effective classroom management skills to lead activities and create an inclusive environment.
  • Work with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
  • Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct and company policies.
  • Maintain the Impact Kids look and exhibit the company's Core Values.
