Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Provide for the social, emotional, and educational needs of each child and the group as a whole during the school year.
  • Assist in planning, conducting, and supervising recreational activities for campers in kindergarten through 5th grade in an after-school setting.
  • Assist in the care and supervision of children assigned to the group.
  • Participate in staff training before the beginning of the school year.
  • Assist with supervising a classroom and attending to the children's needs.
  • Supervise the health, safety, and activities of after-school children.
  • Follow the weekly schedule of events and special activities.
  • Teach or assist in all activity areas.
  • Take initiative to analyze and solve problems.
  • Assist in organizing, collecting, and transporting necessary supplies and children to extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with cleaning up all activities.
  • Assist in supervising and participating in crafts, games, sports, and other after-school activities, including helping children with homework.
  • Participate in parent-related programs such as the JTEAM Cookout, JTEAM Channukah Celebration, and JTEAM Picnic.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings and trainings.
  • Supervise, encourage, and teach new staff as assigned.
  • Report behavior problems to the Youth Programs Manager.
  • Be available to work all-day programs such as School's Out J's In, Winter Break Camp, and Spring Break Camp.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Youth Programs Manager.
