Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant product management experience, specifically with a focus on updating firmware platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and driving consensus to deliver exceptional products that meet customer needs
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex product initiatives across engineering, design, sales, finance and/or marketing
  • Must be a strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision making and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the firmware updates platform, ensuring alignment with GM’s broader business goals and customer needs.
  • Lead and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, software development, program management, and dealership teams, to identify customer value propositions and ensure alignment on product goals and priorities.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept through launch and continuous improvement, developing and managing product requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and compelling user interfaces, and with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product rollouts, including the development of effective training and support materials.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats, ensuring that the platform is positioned effectively in the marketplace.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior product team members, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure product success, inform future decisions, and drive continuous improvement based on user feedback and market trends.
  • Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners - ensuring clarity and transparency.
  • Ensure that the platform meets industry standards and regulatory requirements related to vehicle firmware, maintaining GM's commitment to quality and safety.
