Journeyman Electrician
About the job
- A minimum of 4–5 years of experience in the commercial electrical field.
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code, Ohm’s Law, and electrical theory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in cramped spaces, and stand for long periods.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including benders, multimeters, and testers.
- Install, connect, and test electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and communications.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit, and pull wire or cable through conduit.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to ensure installations meet design intent and local codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in electrical systems and components, including transformers, motors, and switchgear.
- Ensure all work adheres to the National Electrical Code and local building regulations.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to electrical apprentices.
- Current OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred.
