About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in enablement, program management, technical training, or a closely related role.
  • At least 2 years of program management experience, with a track record of taking programs from concept to launch in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience supporting technical teams, engineers, solutions engineers, or similar groups at a B2B technology company.
  • Strong knowledge-management instincts, including experience building or significantly improving a documentation system and clear opinions on what makes one effective.
  • Ability to navigate technical content, read technical architecture documents, identify outdated information, and work with engineers to update it; coding is not required.
  • Strong written communication skills and a focus on creating useful content.
  • Proficiency with AI tools for content creation, summarization, and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and launch a structured, role-based onboarding program for new FAE hires, taking engineers from environment setup through meaningful technical contribution within their first 30 days.
  • Define fully ramped success criteria by role and communicate them clearly to new hires and their managers.
  • Audit, consolidate, and maintain the authoritative technical knowledge base for customer-facing engineering, eliminating fragmentation, broken link chains, and stale documentation.
  • Establish a review cadence to keep content current as the platform evolves; tag owners and set expiration dates for key documents.
  • Create a clear document hierarchy so engineers know which resources are canonical and which are deprecated.
  • Work with internal experts to surface appropriate documentation for each audience, distinguishing what a new hire needs on Day 1 from what an established engineer needs to explore in depth.
  • Develop and maintain a recurring enablement cadence, including live sessions, asynchronous updates, and release summaries, to keep tenured engineers current on new capabilities, product changes, and evolving enterprise use cases.
  • Identify readiness gaps through feedback loops with managers and new hires, and develop targeted content to address them.
  • Serve as the embedded enablement partner to FAE leadership, maintaining close awareness of team needs as the business scales.
  • Collaborate with the broader Enablement team to adapt existing go-to-market enablement content for engineering audiences and bring engineering learnings back to the organization.
  • Manage multiple concurrent programs with clear milestones, keeping stakeholders informed on roadmap progress and program effectiveness.
  • Report on program health and outcomes to engineering and Enablement leadership on an ongoing basis.

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in developer tools, AI/ML platforms, or technical product environments where the end user is an engineer or technical practitioner.
  • Experience building learning management system-based learning paths or structured onboarding curricula for technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with tiered instructional design or adult learning principles applied to technical content.
  • Prior experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, or Delivery teams to extract and systematize institutional knowledge.
  • Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed environment building programs from scratch without waiting for perfect infrastructure.

About the Company

Scale AI

Supplies AI training data and builds AI apps

Scale AI supplies the data that AI labs use to train and test their models, and it builds custom AI applications for companies and government agencies such as the Pentagon. It first made its name labeling camera and sensor data for self-driving car companies like Waymo, then worked with OpenAI on InstructGPT, the 2022 forerunner of ChatGPT. Freelancers, some of them doctors and lawyers, write, label, and grade examples through its Outlier platform, and labs pay Scale for this data and for tests of model quality. Clients pay Scale to build AI tools on their own data, and some of those tools run on classified military networks. Alexandr Wang and Lucy Guo founded Scale AI in 2016, and it is based in San Francisco.
