Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • At least 4 years of mechanical engineering experience with HVAC and plumbing design across various building applications is required.
  • Engineer-In-Training professional licensure is required.
  • Proficiency with REVIT engineering design software is required.
  • Project management experience leading tasks or projects is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems is required.
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical systems is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required for periodic travel.
Responsibilities
  • Interpret architectural design plans and research appropriate HVAC and plumbing systems to fit project scopes.
  • Design heating, cooling, and plumbing systems that integrate with and support architectural building plans.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis, within design work.
  • Understand how different engineering disciplines interact within projects and how mechanical engineering can affect other design elements.
  • Use engineering design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
  • Incorporate appropriate equipment to support buildings' HVAC and plumbing needs.
  • Develop creative engineering designs for challenging spaces.
  • Partner with the operations manager at times to develop new client business and win new project work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering licensure is preferred, or the candidate should be willing to obtain it soon after hire.
