Requirements
  • An Associate degree in nursing is required.
  • At least one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and working indoors is required; the role also requires occasional stair climbing, work outside in temperature extremes, work from elevated areas, work in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, fine and gross motor tasks, overhead and multidirectional reaching, and use of both legs for mobility and balance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, lift or lower 50 pounds between the floor and 36 inches, lift 25 pounds from 36 inches to overhead, and exert up to 50 pounds of force is required.
  • Corrected vision sufficient to maintain 20/40 acuity, recognize objects at varied distances, distinguish colors, judge depth and distance, and maintain peripheral vision is required.
  • Hearing acuity with correction and tactile sensory function are required; good olfactory sensory function and qualification for respirator use apply to selected positions.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations, work rotating shifts, and work overtime as required is required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and comply with infection-control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment is required.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, use fine motor skills for patient-care tasks, lift and move patients or medical equipment, and navigate clinical environments is required.
  • Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of patient care, including long shifts and stressful situations, are required.
  • Auditory ability to communicate effectively and perceive alarms or patient instructions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed care to patients and families using the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe and effective patient care.
  • Interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired patient-care results.
  • Perform patient-care tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and conducting physical examinations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
