- Graduate of an approved school of Nursing.
- Hold a current license in good standing in New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Provide dedicated, clinically sound, and compassionate care.
- Possess a cooperative, caring, and enthusiastic approach that supports rehabilitation and optimal resident health.
- Have an interest in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, and challenging residents.
- Have communication, customer service, and organization skills.
- Work well under pressure and harmoniously with all staff.
- Provide daily support to unit leadership and respond appropriately and promptly to resident and family needs within the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice.
- Use the nursing process, professional judgment, and nursing skills to set priorities, deliver quality direct resident care, and make decisions that promote resident safety and care quality.
- Perform standard nursing treatments and administer medications while observing residents for desired or unwanted effects.
- Communicate and collaborate with appropriate care-team members to revise or update the nursing care plan and report pertinent findings, including laboratory or test results, incidents, and concerns.
- Monitor and document vital signs, administered treatments, and residents' responses.
- Prepare, organize, oversee, monitor, and evaluate resident care delivery for certified nursing assistant assignments and activities based on resident needs and staff competency.
