Responsibilities
Perform and oversee daily Hospital Service tasks, including consigning, shipping, packing, reconciliation, and irradiation or modification of hospital orders.
Perform whole blood pickups from collection vans, mobile sites, and fixed sites.
Perform sample pickups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and National Laboratory services.
Interact daily with hospital customers and communicate by telephone with hospital Transfusion Services to ensure correct orders and component shipments.
Maintain sufficient knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problems with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.
Maintain Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.
Maintain working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution, and transport of blood components.

Summary:
This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Job Responsibilities:
1. Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks)
Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites.
Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab.
3. Customer Service
Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments
4. Equipment Maintenance
Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.
5. Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.
6. Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.
The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr.
