Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in the media or technology space in a product management, engineering role, or operational role
  • Solid understanding of the streaming business, particularly streaming technologies for OTT or mobile apps
  • Proven track record working with Engineering, Design, and UX teams to build features and products
  • Strong user knowledge and ability to project today’s streaming behaviors into the future
  • Demonstrated background in developing and launching features or taking products to market
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is hands on with the details and can be 100% comfortable in autonomously executing to achieve their goals
  • History of working cross-functionally and collaboratively, particularly in an engineering-driven organization
  • You have a bias towards action and speed to market, with experience running lightweight Proofs of Concept
  • BA / BS degree, technical, analytical, or product management background preferred
Responsibilities
  • Identify key trends across the streaming services partner ecosystem and pursue product discovery and prioritization for widely applicable opportunities in the streaming service ecosystem
  • Discover strategic opportunities identified in alignment with leadership. Includes, but not limited to, running early proof of concepts for feasibility & running A/B experiments to prove out the opportunity
  • Discover partner-requested features through collaboration with partner management and business teams as well as developers in the partner companies
  • Prioritize and drive new feature development in the Roku OS and SDK to support UI and media innovation in 3rd party apps on the Roku platform
  • Drive roadmap planning, PRD creation and prioritization of app development features in the Roku OS and SDK releases
  • Proactively lead and prioritize Roku’s roadmap to develop platform requirements critical to the streaming service partnerships business
  • Drive efficiencies in streaming service app development using Roku’s SDK and APIs that improve development time, app debuggability and app performance on the platform
  • Work with internal engineering teams to externalize and productize enhancements to OS features and tools to improve 3rd party app performance on Roku
  • Proactively lead and prioritize Roku’s roadmap to develop performance enhancing features and debug tools for streaming service partners
  • Manage engineering resource planning
  • Identify resource needs and plan new hires to support streaming service partnerships product roadmaps
  • Identify underinvested areas and build a business case to prioritize
  • Track and report against headcount targets
