Requirements
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience, or 2–3 years of experience with a roofing company.
  • A high school graduate education level is required; college education is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour training is required.
  • First Aid, CPR, and bloodborne pathogen training are required.
  • Other specific equipment licenses or training may be required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and scheduling is required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in various types of residential roofing are required.
  • The ability to manage several ongoing jobs is required.
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish, including budgeting, production, costs, and materials, is required.
  • The ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage residential projects within the assigned region.
  • Manage the overall results of each job from the turnover meeting through final project completion, including office and field duties.
  • Review contracts before execution, compare them with proposals or estimates, and flag discrepancies.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals, recommend changes when necessary, and review wind uplift requirements.
  • Ensure warranties have been applied for and that work permits and fully executed job contracts are in place before materials are released or on-site work begins.
  • Prepare the Superintendent job file and plan the job with field staff before work begins.
  • Schedule and attend pre-planning sessions with the general contractor and/or homeowner.
  • Schedule pre-roofing conferences before roofing work begins.
  • Coordinate work schedules with clients and subcontractors and inform the Superintendent of schedule changes.
  • Maintain job-site records, daily reports, delay requests, and weather reports.
  • Monitor job progress and provide input for production reports and job-cost monitoring; report job-cost status weekly to the Department Head.
  • Review and approve timesheets for completeness and accuracy using GPS reports.
  • Resolve technical and contractual problems and issues.
  • Support the Superintendent with materials, schedule, and cost information.
  • Prepare estimates for minor change orders and support Estimators with major change orders.
  • Maintain a change-order status log and keep Accounts Receivable informed of pending and approved change orders.
  • Submit monthly billings based on contract requirements.
  • Attend meetings at the main office and on site as required.
  • Attend weekly Department Team meetings and provide status and cost information on current jobs.
  • Project final costs for each job before the monthly jobs-in-progress meeting with accounting.
  • Assume responsibility for total project preparation, execution, and closeout.
  • Manage purchase orders, requisitions, and consolidated delivery forms.
  • Stand for long periods and climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
  • Lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work in varying lighting, temperature, noise, hazardous-material, high-place, and dangerous-condition environments while following safety procedures.

  • College education is preferred.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
