Requirements
  • Two or more years of electro-mechanical assembly, field-service, or technician experience are required.
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics, wiring schedules, and mechanical exploded views.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, torque drivers, and crimp/ferrule tools, with comfort performing light soldering.
  • Basic computer literacy, including using the Windows or Linux command line to run scripts or update firmware.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders or a scissor lift when routing overhead cabling.
Responsibilities
  • Install electrical hardware, including relays, power distribution units, and ground-fault circuit interrupter outlets, on the scanner frame according to wiring diagrams and safety codes.
  • Mount and secure electronic subassemblies, including embedded compute, USB hubs, Power over Ethernet switches, sensors, and machine-vision cameras.
  • Route, label, and strain-relieve cabling, and torque and mark fasteners to specification.
  • Flash firmware and run scripted diagnostics on cameras and compute modules.
  • Execute final functional tests by driving vehicles through the scanner, log image and sensor data, and troubleshoot and document anomalies.
  • Complete quality-assurance checklists in the manufacturing execution system and sign off units for shipment.
  • Provide engineering feedback on build pain points and suggest fixture or kitting improvements to shorten assembly time and improve quality.
  • Maintain an electrostatic-discharge-safe bench and follow IPC-A-610, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and company safety practices.
