Requirements
  • At least 15 years of relevant hardware design experience, including mixed-signal circuits and PCB architecture.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience or training.
  • Proven experience in PCB schematic and layout design, ideally in high-speed and RF/analog applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management principles.
  • Working knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and design for manufacturability best practices.
  • A strong foundation in analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced designers.
  • Demonstrated people-management experience, including leading, coaching, and developing teams of five or more engineers in a fast-paced hardware environment.
  • Project management skills, including defining scope, managing schedules, allocating resources, and delivering complex hardware programs on time and on budget.
  • Ability to communicate project status, risks, and technical trade-offs to executive stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills across multiple technical domains.
Responsibilities
  • Own PCB development end-to-end, from concept through production.
  • Design and implement RF, analog, digital, and power circuits for high-performance base station products.
  • Partner with experts on floor planning and PCB constraints for seamless integration.
  • Lead and review schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost.
  • Develop and maintain schematic symbols and component footprints.
  • Drive the PCB development flow to improve quality and productivity.
  • Lead PCB vendor engagement through design for manufacturability review.
  • Support board bring-up and debugging.
  • Lead and manage a team of hardware design engineers by setting goals, providing mentorship, and driving technical and career growth.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and build a high-performing engineering team culture.
  • Drive staffing decisions, including hiring, onboarding, and resource planning, to ensure adequate team capacity.
  • Own project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking for hardware development programs from kickoff through production release.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and trade-offs, and escalate blockers proactively to keep programs on track.
  • Coordinate cross-functional program reviews with firmware, systems, and product teams to align deliverables and timelines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation must align with real-world constraints.
  • Exposure to artificial-intelligence-assisted electronic design automation tools for schematic capture, layout optimization, or design-for-manufacturability checking.
  • Comfort using artificial intelligence copilots, including Cadence's artificial-intelligence- and machine-learning-enabled Allegro features or general large language model tools, to accelerate documentation, datasheet parsing, or design-rule research.
  • Comfort adopting artificial-intelligence-augmented workflows to improve design productivity.

GreenWave Radios designs energy-efficient RF systems around a specialized hardware architecture called a non-linear Radio Processing Unit (nRPU). Its radios run software-defined protocol personalities that can implement many RF standards on a single hardware platform. The core idea is to execute diverse radio functions in software on the nRPU, achieving much lower power consumption than typical radios while preserving flexibility. This approach lets GreenWave Radios support multiple radio standards and features on one hardware base, enabling easier updates and customization without swapping hardware. The company’s goal is to provide ultra-low-power, flexible radios that can support a wide range of protocols efficiently, addressing the demand for long-lasting, adaptable wireless devices.
