About the company

Agiliti provides access to, management of, and maintenance for a wide range of medical equipment to healthcare organizations. It rents high-quality devices—such as critical care equipment, surgical lasers, specialty beds, and surfaces—and ensures they are delivered in patient-ready condition, with ongoing service and support. The product workflow centers on equipment rental paired with service contracts, plus a digital management platform (MyAgiliti) that lets hospitals track rental history, maintenance, and utilization. Compared with competitors, Agiliti emphasizes end-to-end asset management and nationwide hospital reach, offering a comprehensive rental and maintenance ecosystem, not just equipment supply. The company’s goal is to improve patient outcomes while reducing wasted equipment spending for its clients.

Agiliti introduces Capillaire(TM)- low-profile alternating Pressure Overlay clinically proven to prevent perioperative pressure injuries.

Agiliti introduces Capillaire(TM)- low-profile alternating Pressure Overlay clinically proven to prevent perioperative pressure injuries. One-of-a-kind technology enhances care for patients across surgical, perioperative and emergency care environments MINNEAPOLIS-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Agiliti, a leading manufacturer and provider of medical device solutions to the U.S. healthcare industry, today announced the launch of Capillaire(TM), a low-profile alternating air pressure support surface that delivers dynamic pressure redistribution, clinically proven to prevent and treat perioperative pressure injuries (PI) in surgeries lasting longer than two hours. The unique and dynamic overlay is compatible with most operating room (OR) tables and stretcher platforms across surgical, perioperative and emergency care environments. "Pressure injuries remain a significant challenge for healthcare providers, particularly during extended surgeries or prolonged emergency department stays," said Tim McCarty, General Manager of Beds and Therapeutic Surfaces at Agiliti. "Capillaire is the industry's only low-profile alternating air pressure support surface, designed to deliver continuous micro-offloading and enhanced skin perfusion for patients where repositioning is limited or not possible - helping to significantly reduce the risk of hospital-acquired pressure injuries." According to AORN guidelines, time in the OR beyond two hours is an intrinsic risk factor for perioperative pressure injury, and patients at high risk should be placed on an alternating air pressure support surface. In fact, 23% of hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) occur intraoperatively during surgeries lasting more than three hours.[1] And pressure injury risk increases about 33% for every 30 minutes beyond four hours in the OR.[2] Capillaire, which is making its debut at the AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo (booth 451), was designed to help care teams reduce these risks through improved perfusion and micro-offloading. Features include: * Geometric series of air-filled nodes that alternate inflation and deflation in five-minute cycles * Low profile (<1") multi-patient design to maintain procedural position * Compatibility with a wide range of OR and stretcher surface sizes, including pediatric, stretcher, and multiple OR table configurations * Compact, quiet controller with easy portability and a 15' latching power cord for flexible OR setups Studies have shown the clinical effectiveness of the Capillaire alternating pressure overlay which can help decrease OR-related HAPI rates from 11% to 0% in cardiovascular patients[3] and perioperative pressure injuries from 6% to 0% in neurosurgical patients.[4] To learn more about the extensive line of therapeutic support surfaces from Agiliti, including Capillaire, visit agilitihealth.com.
