Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or metrology processes is preferred.
  • Ability to supervise quality assurance personnel and guide daily quality procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control, including performing and interpreting Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies and measurement system evaluations.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments and data-driven problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Production Part Approval Process, and other core quality methodologies.
  • Proficiency with document and reporting software such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Drive quality control methods, procedures, and equipment to ensure consistent product quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • Implement inspection standards for materials, components, products, and production processes.
  • Identify quality issues, maintain inspection records, and support corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Manage non-conforming material processes, including containment, rework coordination, and material disposition.
  • Analyze customer complaints and internal failures to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support quality assurance personnel and ensure alignment with quality objectives, timelines, and production requirements.
  • Conduct process capability studies, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies, and measurement system analyses to support data-driven problem solving.
  • Prepare quality reports using statistical analysis, trend monitoring, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production capabilities, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners.
  • Contribute to projects affecting the greater Madison, South Dakota area.
