Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • Certificate of completion from a radiologic technologist training program accredited by an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
  • Advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Maintain active American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
  • Push or pull with 30 pounds of force.
Responsibilities
  • Perform complex magnetic resonance imaging examinations and procedures.
  • Screen patients for magnetic resonance imaging contraindications and ensure magnetic resonance imaging safety compliance.
  • Educate patients and monitor patient condition before, during, and after exams.
  • Select pulse sequences and optimize imaging parameters.
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging-guided procedures and assist with breast imaging and biopsies.
  • Perform venipuncture and administer contrast as required.
  • Coordinate magnetic resonance imaging schedules and prioritize emergent studies.
  • Maintain magnetic resonance imaging protocols and recommend updates.
  • Conduct daily quality control and monitor Picture Archiving and Communication System image transfer.
  • Serve as liaison with physicians, engineering, and magnetic resonance imaging vendors.
  • Assist with staff training and magnetic resonance imaging cross-training.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of clinical experience in magnetic resonance imaging in a Level 1 hospital setting.
  • Previous Siemens equipment experience.
