  • Assist the pharmacy team in keeping operations smooth and ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service.
  • Learn and perform as part of the pharmacy team by consistently applying standard operating procedures, best practices, and effective communication.
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer and colleague interactions, and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Create personalized patient experiences at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; and solve or escalate patient problems.
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, and obtain patient medical histories to provide optimal care when appropriate under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where state regulations allow.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
  • Perform basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, remain receptive to feedback, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, support a safe and inclusive team dynamic, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and company policies and procedures, including requirements for patient safety, controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntary offsite clinic staffing, where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
  • Where permissible, complete additional licensure and training requirements under state Board of Pharmacy regulations to obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and answer questions to obtain informed consent.
  • Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, and report adverse-reaction events according to public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information and track and document it for each applicable patient.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by a supervisor or manager.

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
