Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in full-stack web development, including significant e-commerce experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem, including embedded apps, Admin GraphQL, custom data, themes, Liquid, and the platform's constraints and limitations.
- Solid back-end foundation in data modeling and SQL, job queues and asynchronous processing, idempotence, production operations, and testing.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and React.
- Ability to work autonomously, engage directly with business stakeholders, prioritize technical scope, and propose alternatives when rejecting requests.
- Ability to work effectively with artificial-intelligence development agents on a large codebase.
- Comfortable reading technical English for daily use in Shopify documentation, code, comments, and written exchanges; able to understand and participate in technical discussions orally.
Responsibilities
- Develop Shopify products and platform solutions, including embedded admin applications, extensions, automations, Admin GraphQL integrations, custom data, OAuth, webhooks, quotas, and query-cost management.
- Develop themes and content workflows, including template synchronization between stores, Liquid sections and content, and translation transfers between markets.
- Design reliable architectures through data modeling, offloading long-running processing to job queues, implementing idempotence and error recovery, and maintaining consistency between the database and the platform's actual contents.
- Handle deployments, monitoring, production incident diagnosis, automated testing including failure cases, and maintenance of an operational documentation corpus for the team and artificial-intelligence agents.
- Own product and business interactions by arbitrating technical scope, estimating work, meeting commitments, conducting e-commerce and retail workshops, delivering demos, training and supporting operators, and contributing to technical pre-sales.
