Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering/Management, or another relevant engineering or related field, or a foreign equivalent, is required.
  • At least one year of experience in construction engineering is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical engineering information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards, codes, and contract specifications.
  • Meet daily with project crews to review production schedules and confirm that materials, equipment, and resources are available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract-specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and schedules, and identify production, material, equipment, or process risks that could negatively affect the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to track project performance accurately, and document daily activities using company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Notify team members and the manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration.
  • Submit accurate project quantity inputs and controls using assigned project cost coding, and manage cost coding with company finance and accounting teams for employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
  • Review and approve daily timecards for company construction crews, and work with the Office Manager, payroll, and job construction supervisors to resolve timecard inquiries.
  • Review project specifications for quality assurance before, during, and after project work, and initiate and manage certificates, inspections, and other production documentation for the project site.
  • Work with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout, ensuring utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins, and initiate and manage required permits.
  • Conduct required Job Hazard Analyses to support a safe and compliant work environment for construction personnel.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings with the field team and project leadership and present field analysis as needed.
  • Assist the estimating team with project schedules and provide technical input.
  • Assist with developing design drawings and provide technical input as needed.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews as needed.
  • Reconcile the job close-out checklist with the owner representative and field crews at project completion.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company's values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
