Requirements
  • Five to seven years of related professional experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of experience.
  • Category management subject matter expertise and deep knowledge of source-to-pay processes.
  • Experience in international logistics and global supply chain operations, including freight forwarding, customs and import/export requirements, warehousing, transportation, and management of third-party logistics providers across multiple regions.
  • Proficiency in spend analysis, market intelligence analysis, financial analysis, demand and supply planning, sourcing strategy development, negotiation, stakeholder management, contracts management, supplier performance management, and project management.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects.
  • Self-motivation and autonomy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to present at the executive level, communicate elements of complex deals, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to travel up to two times a year domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
  • Provide category management support to internal and external stakeholders, including business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Partner with Global Source-to-Pay Services teams, cross-functional teams, and third-party managed service providers to support stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with functional business stakeholders for assigned categories.
  • Develop and maintain category plans aligned with category management objectives and business priorities.
  • Develop formal category requirements aligned with business priorities and category management objectives.
  • Develop, measure, maintain, benchmark, and track key performance indicators for categories.
  • Research category management best practices and trends for potential implementation.
  • Evaluate annual spend data, external market data, category intelligence, and business requirements to enhance and validate category-specific strategies.
  • Build influence with business stakeholders, evaluate and change the status quo, and obtain buy-in for category strategy and value opportunities.
  • Drive value beyond cost through risk mitigation, operational efficiencies, and innovation.
  • Coordinate and implement strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories.
  • Execute strategic sourcing projects using best-practice sourcing methodology in partnership with key business stakeholders.
  • Assess supplier capabilities and identify new suppliers.
  • Prepare and present business cases and should-cost models; perform complex data analysis and build financial models, including return on investment, net present value, supplier scorecards, savings tracking, and make-versus-buy decision models.
  • Analyze and summarize request-for-proposal responses and results and prepare recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Ensure savings are delivered on time and expected benefits are realized.
  • Oversee and negotiate business terms in contract agreement forms within the established legal risk framework.
  • Coordinate drafting and negotiation of terms and conditions with Legal and identify and escalate legal risks as needed.
  • Manage supplier performance within the supplier relationship management framework and category strategy.
  • Establish and manage governance processes with suppliers and outsourced partners.
  • Implement strategies to manage the supplier base, reviewing suppliers against contractual obligations, service levels, and business expectations.
  • Provide feedback on supplier performance and pursue continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Execute the supplier performance measurement framework and develop stakeholder guidelines aligned with category management objectives.
  • Identify and manage supplier risks and risk response plans.
  • Schedule, manage, and facilitate supplier relationship management meetings and reviews.
  • Develop implementation and transition plans while acting as a change agent.
  • Implement and drive procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Enforce compliance with procurement policies and increase adoption.

The Pokémon Company manages and licenses the Pokémon IP across video games, trading cards, anime, and merchandise, coordinating the franchise for partner products and services. Its offerings include core video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, animated series and films, and licensed merchandise, with Pokémon GO as a prominent freemium mobile game using augmented reality.
