Requirements
  • A PhD in preclinical or clinical nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, endocrinology, reproduction, or epidemiology obtained within five years.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Develop hypothesis-driven studies examining the effects of specific diets and diet components on health outcomes using preclinical or clinical approaches.
  • Conduct mechanistic studies on how specific food components impact health outcomes.
  • Develop methods linking the food nutrition environment with health outcomes.
  • Develop novel hypotheses, experimental approaches, and data analysis methods.
  • Design and execute experiments in consultation with the principal investigator.
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis of research experiments and results.
  • Lead the writing and communication of research-based peer-reviewed publications.
  • Supervise and provide training to junior- and mid-level technical support staff, graduate students, and/or undergraduate students.
  • Follow appropriate laboratory safety procedures for handling, disposing of, and maintaining inventory of hazardous chemicals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with animal models of diet-induced obesity, metabolic syndrome, or cardiovascular disease and nutritional interventions.
  • Expertise in human nutrition studies, including cohort-based analyses, conducting feeding trials, assessments of diet intake, or food systems analysis.
  • Experience with precision nutrition studies, including omic analysis of biomarkers.
