Highland Spring selects Acumen Cyber for 24/7 managed cybersecurity.

Highland Spring selects Acumen Cyber for 24/7 managed cybersecurity. Mark Bowen 29 October, 2026 Highland Spring Group has appointed Acumen Cyber to provide round-the-clock threat monitoring, investigation and response, strengthening its existing cybersecurity capabilities and supporting its internal IT team. Highland Spring Group has selected managed cybersecurity provider Acumen Cyber to deliver 24/7 threat monitoring, investigation and response services as part of its ongoing investment in protecting business operations. Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Blackford, Perthshire, Highland Spring Group is a family-owned business that produces more than 600 million litres of bottled water annually. The company has already invested significantly in its security technology, infrastructure and internal capabilities. However, evolving cyberthreats and the demands of maintaining continuous security monitoring alongside day-to-day operations prompted it to seek additional specialist support. The partnership will provide Highland Spring with round-the-clock cybersecurity expertise while allowing its internal IT team to focus on infrastructure improvements, vulnerability reduction and longer-term security priorities. Acumen will deliver the service through its Glasgow-based, CREST-accredited Security Operations Centre (SOC), with UK-based security engineers working directly alongside Highland Spring's IT team. Its security platform combines security information and event management (SIEM), automation and threat intelligence to support continuous monitoring, investigation, incident response and proactive threat hunting. Following an extensive tender process, Highland Spring selected Acumen for its technical expertise, engineer-led approach and security platform capabilities. The company's emphasis on continuously validating detection effectiveness against real-world attack techniques was another deciding factor, alongside predictable pricing and direct access to the engineers delivering the service. Tracy Holbein, IT Manager at Highland Spring Group, said: "Keeping our operations running reliably is essential to Highland Spring. This partnership will give us round-the-clock specialist support and more time for our own team to focus on preventing problems and strengthening our security. Acumen stood out because of the rapport between our teams and their enthusiasm for working with us. That gave us confidence that we could build a close and productive partnership." The agreement is intended to establish a long-term relationship in which Acumen operates as an extension of Highland Spring's internal IT team. By combining existing security investments with specialist monitoring and response capabilities, Highland Spring aims to improve visibility into potential threats and strengthen its ability to manage cybersecurity risks. Mark Robertson, CEO at Acumen Cyber, said: "We're delighted to be working with Highland Spring, a business that recognises the importance of investing in cyber security to protect its people, its operations and the trust its customers and partners place in it. "Our role is to work as an extension of Highland Spring's team, with named security engineers who understand the business and take responsibility for strengthening its defences. That means continually improving protection as threats evolve and backing confidence with evidence. We continuously validate our detection capabilities against real-world attack techniques, using the findings to improve the security we deliver."

Highland Spring launches two new flavours in still water portfolio.

Highland Spring launches two new flavours in still water portfolio. Highland Spring adds two flavours to still water range Image from Highland Spring Highland Spring is extending its flavoured still water portfolio with the addition of two new flavours - Orange & Passionfruit and Summer Berries - building on the strong performance of the existing range. Available from early April onwards, the new products are aiming to make an even bigger splash in the flavoured still water category and offer a healthier way to hydrate. The refreshing flavours of Orange & Passionfruit and Summer Berries, combined with the great taste of Highland Spring water, perfectly complement the existing Apple & Blackcurrant, Lemon & Lime, and Strawberry range. The flavoured still water category is one of the fastest growing categories in Soft Drinks over the last 12 months with retail sales value +19% and volume sales +14% (NIQ 52w to 21 Feb 26). New shoppers are moving to the category as they switch out of less healthy drinks such as Cola and other flavoured carbonated drinks (NIQ Panel, L52WKs to 27.12.25). Highland Spring now accounts for over 50% of all new product sales in flavoured water - the highest contribution of any brand with 12 million units sold to date. All five Highland Spring products are sugar free, combining natural flavours with the purity and taste of Scottish spring water sourced from the Ochil Hills, Perthshire, Scotland. Highland Spring Apple & Blackcurrant Still Flavoured Water 750ml has also recently been awarded Product of the Year 2026 (Drinks Category), recognised for its great taste, quality and strong consumer appeal. Orange & Passionfruit will be available in 1.25L and 750ml formats, while Summer Berries will be offered in 1.25L PET recyclable (cap-on) bottles. Nic Yates, Marketing Director at Highland Spring, comments: "Our flavoured still water range has been a tremendous hit with shoppers, and we're excited to expand it with two fantastic new options: Orange & Passionfruit and Summer Berries to make your day fruitier. "These additions performed exceptionally well in consumer research, achieving high scores for both satisfaction and purchase intent. "Our range now spans the full flavour spectrum - from tropical to citrus - and everything in between. We remain committed to growing our flavours portfolio to support category growth, with a clear ambition to reach £100m in UK sales." The launch will be supported by a £2m impactful marketing campaign which includes an out-of-home advertising campaign and national sampling programme to drive trial and repeat purchase.
