Requirements
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to decipher and comprehend signs indicating danger.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, such as a scrubber and extractor.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance to work at the assigned work site.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of up to 40 pounds; prolonged walking and standing; and frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned facility areas.
  • Perform cleaning duties including dusting lights, furniture, and other horizontal surfaces; dry mopping hard floors; vacuuming carpets; emptying and cleaning trash containers and ashtrays; spot cleaning walls and windows; and using a high-speed buffer to burnish hard floor surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain assigned equipment.
  • Notify the supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous custodial experience.
  • Graduation from GGW’s NISH custodial training program.
