About the job

Requirements
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering, including fabrication, design, and metalworking using tools such as computer-aided design, metal inert gas welding, manual metal arc welding, and common machining methods.
  • Experience with electrical distribution, logic, and signal processing or manipulation, including Controller Area Network bus, differential signaling, and transmission line theory.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution, printed circuit board assembly, modifications and repairs to surface-mount technology boards down to 0402 component sizes, high- and low-voltage wiring harnesses, and circuit-protection devices, using tools and processes such as oscilloscopes, micropencil, and PIDG crimps; must be able to inspect crimps.
  • High-performing power electronics experience, including developing for high-voltage systems defined as 60–1500 VDC and 30–1000 VAC under ECE/324/Rev.2, servicing industrial batteries of varied chemistries, and implementing DC-DC and DC-AC converters.
  • Thorough understanding of Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, Design for Test, and Design for Reliability principles for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the reliability of current vehicle autonomy systems, including the electrical and mechanical aspects of the autonomous sensing and actuation platform and the base vehicle.
  • Define, lead, and own the hands-on creation of new vehicle platform integrations to expand compatibility with a broad range of airport vehicles, interacting with suppliers and vendors as appropriate.
  • Design, test, and track the safety-critical functionality of the autonomous vehicle through simulations and real-world test runs, including executing a multi-stage pilot project in baggage halls, vehicle corridors, and the airport apron.
  • Support all aspects of ground vehicle autonomy with the autonomy engineering team, including calibration and integration of perception, planning, navigation, and control systems.
  • Understand and keep current with automotive and robotics safety standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Multiple years of experience designing and assembling both mechanical and electrical hardware systems.
  • Background in safety-critical software or system development, preferably using a ground robotics functional safety standard such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
  • Prior experience developing and supporting all aspects of autonomy for a production ground-vehicle subsystem or research prototype; end-to-end, full-lifecycle development is preferred.
  • Startup experience.
  • A comprehensive profile of personal projects relating to mechatronics systems.
  • Experience with Robot Operating System.

About the company

AeroVect builds digital software solutions for the aviation industry. Its platform, based on JavaScript, is used to deliver web and mobile applications and data-driven tools for aviation customers such as airlines, airports, and related businesses. The product likely runs as a web-based service or subscription, enabling users to access, customize, and deploy aviation-focused software and analytics from a browser or app. Unlike general software firms, AeroVect targets aviation-specific workflows and data needs, leveraging a JavaScript-based platform to offer scalable digital products and possibly professional services like custom development or data analysis. The company’s goal is to help aviation stakeholders manage software, data, and operations more efficiently by providing practical digital solutions that can be deployed and consumed through a cloud-based platform.

What believers are saying

  • AeroVect raised debt on April 30, 2026, after its September 2024 Series A.
  • Its careers page updated August 6, 2026, showing active hiring and expansion.
  • Point One's August 19, 2025 partnership improves positioning precision for autonomous runway operations.

What critics are saying

  • Revenue depends on slow airport procurement; pilots with GAT and dnata still validate.
  • OEMs and incumbents can bundle GSE autonomy into fleet contracts.
  • A fatal airside incident would halt deployments, trigger lawsuits, and crush trust.

What makes AeroVect unique

  • OEM-agnostic AeroVect Driver retrofits existing GSE, avoiding fleet replacement.
  • It focuses on airside autonomy, where aircraft crossings and ramp safety dominate.
  • AeroVect claims the largest airside driving dataset and most live-production miles.
