Platform Engineer - Mission Applications
About the job
- An IAT or IAM Level II Department of Defense 8570 certification is required.
- An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Ability to access secure facilities with SIPR and JWICS is required.
- Experience with microservice orchestration, especially Kubernetes, is required.
- Experience with Kustomize and Helm is required.
- Experience with Linux is required.
- Experience with GitOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery, especially GitLab, is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in application deployment and release management is required.
- At least 3 years of experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, is required.
- At least 3 years of experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or ArgoCD, is required.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools is required.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack, is required.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python or Bash, is required.
- A strong understanding of application deployment strategies, including blue-green and canary deployments, is required.
- Integrate and deploy Mission Partner mission applications across platform fabrics.
- Ensure continuous delivery of Mission Partner mission applications.
- Develop deployment and integration manifests that create the Kubernetes objects, resources, policies, and components required to deploy Mission Partner applications.
- Develop and sustain automation, including GitLab Mission Partner self-service deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Develop and maintain the Mission Apps Padawan site.
- Support Mission Partner onboarding through mission manifest project development and integration and mission-bootstrap integration.
- Sustain configuration management and catalogs.
- Provide Tier 3 support for Mission Partner mission applications.
- Sustain standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Sustain mission application infrastructure, including mutual TLS gateways, third-party tools, and Istio and Kyverno configurations and policies.
- Experience with advanced application and network troubleshooting, database administration, and public key infrastructure management.
- Experience with cloud providers, especially AWS services.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with automation, including batch scripting, pipeline automation, Kubernetes operators, and infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience with service mesh technologies, including Istio and Linkerd.
- Experience with security scanning and vulnerability management tools.
- Experience with platform engineering concepts.
