Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of advancement or development experience at an institution of higher education, a multi-faceted arts organization, and/or other community-based nonprofit is required.
  • Experience in a similar field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with volunteers and/or boards and working on high-level events is necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment are required.
  • Ability to create, manage, and maintain internal and external relationships with high-priority donors, alumni, volunteers, and University leadership is required.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proactive relationship-building skills with the ability to create nuanced and thoughtful relationships with alumni, donors, volunteers, faculty, administrators, and trustees are required.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines with keen attention to detail are required.
  • Broad knowledge of fundraising principles and the ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle are required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish stated objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of principal, major gift, and leadership annual giving prospects.
  • Develop sufficient knowledge of Eastman to represent the school effectively at local, regional, and national events and provide guidance and assistance to regional University officers representing Eastman.
  • Serve as prospect manager in several of Eastman's top markets, ensuring that an appropriately sized prospect pool is strategically qualified, cultivated, and solicited personally and through coordination with key regional gift officers.
  • Track and manage prospect moves, short- and long-term strategies, and next steps, including identifying and recommending opportunities for Decanal and Presidential engagement.
  • Drive prospect engagement strategy in designated geographic regions.
  • Manage advancement projects within assigned areas of responsibility, including events in designated geographic regions.
  • Cultivate and promote prospects for volunteer roles at Eastman.
  • Oversee the Eastman Dean's Circle, including creating and overseeing a multi-year strategic plan and annual opportunities for engagement, stewardship, and communication.
  • Manage the Dean's Circle pipeline for leadership annual giving, major gifts, and principal gifts in coordination with peer Eastman and regional gift officers.
  • Liaise with the George Eastman Circle team to complement its calendar of Rochester-based events and stewardship opportunities.
  • Initiate and/or strengthen relationships in a prospect solicitation pipeline, with emphasis on major gift prospects of $100,000 or more.
  • Conduct identification and qualification visits.
  • Create donor strategies and solicit donors based on thorough knowledge of Eastman's stewardship and cultivation processes.
  • Strategize with the Executive Director on Presidential and Decanal engagement as appropriate.
  • Manage a moves management strategy within advancement databases and resources, including planning travel and documenting donor interactions, correspondence, and proposals.
  • Create and oversee the strategic plan for the Eastman Dean's Circle and manage its implementation.
  • Identify and cultivate Dean's Circle members for Eastman's major and principal gift pipeline.
  • Create and oversee quarterly updates to the Dean's Circle membership base.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
