Remote-first
Since March 2020, our Zoomers have worked remotely and reported an overall better work-life balance with more time for family and personal wellness.
At the end of 2021, LegalZoom made the official commitment to being a remote-first company. Remote-first means that there is no expectation that Zoomers come into an office for a fixed number of days outside of those employees identified as essential onsite workers. While we remain a remote-first culture, our local offices have evolved as collaboration spaces for Zoomers to meet and engage in person.

Overview
LegalZoom is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the product design team. We’re in an exciting period of growth and product building, and we’re seeking a talented, passionate person to join our team and help fuel the success of small businesses. This is a role for someone who wants to help shape the future direction of LegalZoom products and who has a ruthless attention to detail, is comfortable with ambiguity, loves collaborating cross-functional partners, and inspires others with work that always puts the customer first. You will
●Partner with product designers, product managers, and engineers to solve real problems for people as they start and grow small businesses.
●Ensure the end-to-end customer experience across web and mobile meets the highest standards of emotional delight.
●Contribute to our brand new design system, ensuring consistency of existing patterns and establishing new ones whenever appropriate.
●Demonstrate familiarity with industry best practices for accessibility and product design, and be able to apply these practices to improve the quality of deliverables and the customer experience.
●Generate lots of ideas for execution, proactively seek feedback and critique from designers and cross-functional partners, and have a strong point of view that you can back up with personal expertise, customer input, and industry trends.
●Collaborate effectively—including creatively handling constraints—with partners across brand, marketing, product, engineering, legal, and c-suite.
●Juggle multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately.
●Think on your feet and execute quickly against deadlines.
●Contribute productively to the product design team culture by participating in critique and reviews, sharing inspiration and trends, and being an active part of the team’s day-to-day operations.
You have
●Bachelor’s degree or more in visual communication design, interaction design, human computer interaction or similar field.
●3-5+ years of experience in product design working across responsive web and—ideally—native mobile.
●Design acumen and expertise that’s focused on visual web and product design, but may also span interaction patterns, motion, and more.
●Experience working in-house on a product design team is a must. Agency experience with a background in marketing design and/or e-commerce are a bonus.
●Fluency with design thinking, customer research, extracting insights, shaping experiences that champion customer needs and the ability to execute with speed without compromising quality.
●Fluency and comfort working quickly and tidily in Google Docs and Figma (including autolayout, prototyping, and components).
●Strong online portfolio showcasing your craft, impact, and collaborative process.
●A natural drive to envision, make, build, and iterate quickly alongside talented engineers. A project without a PM partner doesn’t scare you; it excites you because you’re used to building directly in partnership with engineering.
●Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to present your work to cross-functional teams and leadership, build cross-functional trust, and find compromises with key stakeholders.
●Passion for keeping up with the latest trends in design and tech to fuel your creativity and sharpen your design acumen.
●Basic understanding of key business metrics and how design plays a role in driving them.
LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($108,000-$216,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
