Requirements
  • At least 4 years of security engineering experience with substantial application security depth, including knowledge of major vulnerability classes and experience improving the security posture of a production platform.
  • Hands-on experience with static application security testing, dynamic application security testing, software composition analysis tools, and continuous integration and continuous delivery integration, including tools such as Semgrep, CodeQL, Bandit, OWASP ZAP, or Burp Suite.
  • Experience using large language models or artificial intelligence agents to automate security work, including writing and evaluating prompts and workflows for reliable agentic tooling.
  • Software engineering ability to read unfamiliar code and make precise, well-scoped production changes, including building paved-path libraries and fixing vulnerability patterns across services using Python, Django, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience driving vulnerability remediation through teams without direct management authority, including writing clear findings, making defensible severity decisions, and following fixes through completion.
  • Ability to shape security feedback so that engineers act on it and vulnerabilities are fixed rather than merely filed.
Responsibilities
  • Build and operate an agentic application security program with static application security testing, dynamic application security testing, software composition analysis, continuous integration and continuous delivery integration, large-language-model-based triage, and automated pull-request security review.
  • Drive vulnerability remediation end to end by triaging and rating findings from scanners, penetration tests, and researchers; routing fixes to owning teams; tracking them to closure against service-level agreements; and verifying that fixes close the vulnerability.
  • Eliminate vulnerability classes at their root by shipping secure defaults, paved-path libraries, framework-level fixes, and targeted code changes in the product codebase.
  • Lead threat modeling and security reviews for new features and platform changes, engaging product engineers early in design and automating threat-model maintenance over time.
  • Tune and evolve the security program's signal quality through new rules, improved prompts, and fewer false positives.
  • Monitor the vulnerability landscape relevant to a fintech platform handling sensitive financial and tax data and translate relevant developments into concrete program changes.

Collective acquires embedded accounting start-up Open Ledger.

Collective acquires embedded accounting start-up Open Ledger. Collective co-founder and CEO Hooman Radfar says the purchase will help the company accelerate the development of "a system of action", using AI to automate back office accounting functions for solo entrepreneurs. April 24, 2026 Financial management platform Collective has acquired Open Ledger, an embedded accounting start-up backed by Kindred Ventures, Blank Ventures, and HF0. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Created by founders Pryce Yebesi and Ashtyn Bell, Open Ledger operates an API that enables Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms to integrate AI-powered bookkeeping and financial reporting tools. Open Ledger will now merge with the Collective platform, which offers a suite of consolidated bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services targeting solo entrepreneurs. In a blog post announcing the deal, Hooman Radfar, co-founder and CEO of Collective, says the addition of Open Ledger "gives us more flexibility and capability as we build the future of the Business-of-One". Radfar says: "By focusing on stronger infrastructure, we expand the horizons for what we can build, how deeply we can integrate across workflows, and how quickly we can move toward not just a system of record, but a system of action." He describes this as "a system that works continuously on your behalf", able to file taxes and manage cash flow forecasting and acting as "the equivalent of a world-class CFO working 24/7". Collective, based in San Francisco, US, has been exploring the application of AI within the back office over the years. In March 2024, the company launched an AI-powered accounting suite featuring large language models to automate functions like expense categorisation and tax deduction capturing.
