- Have 3 to 7+ years of experience building and shipping production systems.
- Be comfortable owning features end-to-end, from zero to one.
- Be comfortable working with a distributed team across time zones.
- Build and scale core systems powering global payroll and money movement.
- Own large pieces of the product end-to-end.
- Help lead the existing engineering team of 5+ in India.
- Build the in-person engineering presence in NYC from scratch.
- Partner directly with the CEO and product team.
- Ship a meaningful improvement or net-new feature on the spend product within the first 30 days.
- Become deeply familiar with the product team and the India engineering team within the first 30 days.
- Map out future builds across the roadmap within the first 60 days.
- Start leading product meetings within the first 60 days.
- Ship autonomously across at least one product surface within the first 90 days.
- Help build out the NYC in-person engineering culture within the first 90 days.
- Influence how the company hires the next wave of engineers within the first 90 days.

Thera, a leading payroll and payments platform, has raised a $4 million Seed round with participation from Y Combinator, 10x Founders, Amino Capital, Zillionize, and Bayhouse Capital. Notable angels include Oliver Jung, Chris Bakke, Andrew Yeung, Akash Magoon, and Bobby Matson. The funds will be used to develop its platform and expand its team in New York City. Thera was founded in 2022 by former Amazon engineer Akhil Reddy.
Today, Thera announced it has raised $4 million in seed funding from Y Combinator, 10x Founders, Amino Capital, Zillionize, and Bayhouse Capital, as well as angel investors Oliver Jung, Chris Bakke, Andrew Yeung, Akash Magoon, and Bobby Matson.
