Responsibilities

Under the direction of the assigned Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Manager, coordinates all aspects of laboratory referral testing and general specimen processing to meet the laboratory support needs for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Recommends and implements changes as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:1. All applicants must meet the following: Must hold a B.S. degree or higher in Medical Technology or chemical, physical, or biological science, plus a general or specialist certification recognized by the State of Georgia, plus five (5) years experience in a clinical laboratory.

2. Ability to assist or direct the development, organization and implementation of projects, programs, and policies necessary for the operation and enhancement of the specimen processing and referral testing areas.

3. Ability to work independently and supervise assigned personnel.

4. Ability to communicate effectively, and must possess good written and oral communication skills.

PREFERRED:1. Demonstrated knowledge of computers and computer systems, particularly Misys and Microsoft applications.

2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in packaging and shipping rules and regulations as they relate to clinical laboratory specimens.

3. Demonstrated public relations skills and service excellence training.

Work Hours:

Mon - Fri: 7:00am - 3:30pm with rotating weekends
