Requirements
  • An associate degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and/or accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills, with the ability to exercise professional judgment in cases without a predefined roadmap.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across many areas and levels of campus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully and lead from position.
  • Ability to analyze data and understand processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Interpret donor commitments and record new pledges and pledge adjustments in accordance with donor intent, Cornell policies and procedures, CASE standards, IRS guidelines, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Lead management of the gift intention team workflow using a ticketing system and shared Outlook mailbox.
  • Perform quarterly or ad-hoc analyses of pledge activity with the gift intention team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in and lead from position during the upcoming customer relationship management software conversion and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Review and interpret gift agreements, research, create, and process new and revised commitments, partner with Cornell’s development community members, and analyze pledge data year over year to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
