Requirements

  • The position requires physical presence at the hotel and is not suitable for telecommuting or remote work.
  • The associate may be required to work any day or shift, including weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue.
  • Support total front-office operations and act as Manager on Duty when needed or scheduled.
  • Respond immediately to guest requests and maintain thorough communication with management staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property, staff, services, operating hours, room types, locations, rates, and discounts.
  • Apply Frequent Stay Program knowledge and reservation procedures, including cancellations and walking guests.
  • Use proper phone etiquette and answering procedures.
  • Provide guests with information about area shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Stay current on daily hotel operations, events, bulletin boards, changes, procedures, and new events.
  • Greet and register guests, provide room assignments, protect guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible.
  • Promote and sell hotel services and amenities.
  • Promote repeat business by offering future reservations and recommending alternate same-brand products.
  • Identify potential sales leads and contacts through guest interactions and report information to the appropriate individual.
  • Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of special requests, late check-outs, and special-needs areas.
  • Check all credit cards for validity before the end of the shift.
  • Learn and utilize the property management system.
  • Ensure that cash, checks, and miscellaneous departments are balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in food and beverage, cleanliness, laundry, housekeeping, and other departments as needed for guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and professional lobby and dining area, including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning tables.
  • Follow emergency procedures and practice safety standards; report or correct hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Report unusual occurrences or requests to the manager.
  • Maintain required certification from a responsible authority.
  • Use the Service Recovery Log and other communication logs for shift-to-shift handoffs.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness in the market area.
  • Follow approved laundry procedures when applicable, including operating washers and dryers and folding linen according to standards.

  • Experience in service, sales, telesales, or guest-relations industries is preferred.
