Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Maintain current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to use and learn software applications.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform normal rotation, standing, and walking during an 8–12-hour shift.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Ability to work closely with others, protracted or irregular hours, biohazards, infectious diseases, and hands in water.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for provider visits, obtain initial information, and record vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms by ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assist with or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and establish referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients about follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality control testing logs.
  • Ensure that medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Travel between facilities when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
