About the Job

Requirements

  • Graduated from at least high school, vocational high school, or a relevant department of a vocational college.
  • Experience operating STS (Ship to Shore) or QC (Quay Crane) cranes is preferred.
  • An operator certificate approved by the Ministry of National Education is preferred.
  • A Port Crane Operator certificate issued by the Vocational Qualifications Authority is preferred.
  • Knowledge of port container operations and ship loading and unloading processes.
  • Knowledge of crane equipment's basic technical characteristics, operational limits, and safety rules.
  • Competence in radio communication and operational communication.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, high attention, and ability to monitor multiple screens.
  • Able to work in shifts and adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Must reside in or be able to reside in Kocaeli.
  • Careful compliance with occupational health and safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out ship loading and unloading operations safely and efficiently in accordance with the work plan.
  • Operate STS/QC cranes in accordance with operational procedures and conduct container handling processes.
  • Perform daily equipment checks before operations and share identified nonconformities with the relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with the ship tally clerk, signalperson, planning team, and operations teams.
  • Conduct radio communications during operations in accordance with procedures.
  • Apply loading and unloading plans completely and contribute to completing operations on time.
  • Report adverse weather conditions or situations that may affect operational safety to the relevant managers.
  • Work in accordance with occupational health, safety, environment, and quality standards.
  • Report near misses, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts in accordance with company procedures.
  • Complete cleaning, inspection, and shift handover processes for the equipment used.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
