About the job
- A degree in a relevant engineering background, such as Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in new product development with a demonstrable record of bringing a product to market.
- A few years of experience in new product development as an engineer or technical lead.
- Demonstrated experience and success leading medium and large, sophisticated projects or programs.
- Ability to lead a team of engineers and designers to deliver product development commitments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment.
- Create efficient project plans and advance projects toward completion.
- Quickly learn about the medical device industry while working on experimental medical devices.
- Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Test Engineers on concepting, designing, debugging, and analyzing.
- Develop new medical devices and electromechanical products from concept through commercialization.
- Manage project schedules and budgets to move design projects toward fast and successful completion.
- Contact customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
- Foster a collaborative, team-based problem-solving culture.
- Act as a mature, stabilizing influence when working with a wide variety of people.
- Maintain team focus and adjust priorities when necessary.
- Medical device experience is preferred, although any product development experience is applicable.
